History

           Since 1988 T. M. Gusenkova headed the first-aid station. Under her direction the station continued to grow. In 1998 a sub-center №1 was opened in the building of policlinic №6 on 247, Moskovskaya street, near the factory KADVI to cover an adjacent territory. Currently the sub-center treats up to 20% of all calls. Since 25.12.2006 a sub-station №2 is opened on 85, M. Gorki street on the territory of city hospital №4 that brought nearer delivery of medical care to those who live in Mayakovski quarter, Dubrava, Neftebasa, Turinino and also to population of on the right bank and rural population of allied villages. 26.12.2008 in order to implement measures focused on improvement of organization of medical health care to persons who got injured in road accidents a sub-station №3 was opened on the route M3. Station’s garage where more than 40 cars are repaired and provided service is situated in 1km of the main building of the first aid station, on 117 Suvorov street. A classroom for practical exercises with medical personnel of the station, junior (resident) doctors, students of the faculty of postgraduate education of Kaluga medical college is successfully functioning in the first-aid station.
Since 10.10.2014 State financed health care institution “First-aid station” was renamed to State financed health institution “Regional Center of emergency Health Services and Disaster Medicine”.
Kaluga city first-aid station provides emergency health services to citizens of Kaluga and population of allied villages of total number of 347.5 thousand people, 15.8 thousand from them is rural population and 61.3 thousand are children. The radius of service is to 25-30 km.

The station of emergency medical services has developed a lot during its 90 years of work. But would it be long? It seems to us that it’s only a beginning…
